“We were working with a big agency on our website, but it wasn't going well. Communication wasn't great, the pace of work wasn't fast enough, they weren't responding to requests as quickly as we'd like, and pricing was quite steep. That meant we couldn't change things easily on our website. We were having to stop and consider every single quote before going forward with it, as opposed to enjoying a quick, easy Agile process.”

Claire explains how things began. “Our intention initially was to use Hello Better Digital as a gap filler while we reassessed the big picture. They started out managing our website. Our site’s complex in terms of how it's connected to other systems, it's quite a jigsaw to get everything working. So, we’ve a support retainer with Hello Better Digital to fix the little things that break and tweak the little things we need tweaking.”

“We're doing a lot more project work with them now. In the past we worked with another agency to do the digital thinking and wireframing and asked Hello Better Digital to do the development work. But we're relying on them do a lot more of digital problem solving for us now, as well as development. We see them as our key website partner.”

A few website improvements Hello Better Digital have made for SKOPE include upgrading their website from Silverstripe 3 to Silverstripe 4, and installing responsive hosting, where SKOPE are only charged for the bandwidth they use. We’ve also developed sophisticated e-commerce systems that allow customers to reserve clearance products for a few days, or join a waitlist for popular products in high demand.

We asked Claire what SKOPE value most about working with Hello Better Digital. She said three key things come to mind, better turnaround, better communication, and better pricing.

“Turnaround is fast. Things happen really quickly, often overnight, and the work is good. It's pretty much right first time all the time, which is really fantastic. They’re friendly, helpful and responsive. Nothing's ever a problem. You can take any idea to them, and they come back without any judgment. And it's nice knowing we can just put our internal IT guys directly in touch with them and cut out the middleman, which makes life a lot easier.”

“Their affordable price is massive for us. It means that we can do a lot more. We can optimize on the go, rather than having to build a business case every time we want to make changes.

“Also, we learn from working with them. They’re good at explaining why they’ve done things a certain way. or they provide options and explain the pros and cons. They’ll show us a better way of doing a task, or explain how one thing impacts on something else, things we may not have considered before. That in turn makes our requests easier for them to execute. I'd definitely recommend Hello Better Digital. Being able to get all our digital jobs done quickly, cheaply, and easily has really added value.”
